Dr. George is an assistant professor of health sciences at the University of Southern Maine. He is a founding member of the African and Caribbean Council on HIV/AIDS in Ontario and a member of the board for the AIDS Committee of Durham Region. He received a bachelor’s degree in biology at Memorial University in Newfoundland, his master’s degree in community health and epidemiology at the University of Saskatchewan, and his Ph.D. in epidemiology at l’Université Laval. Dr. George’s research focuses on sexual health promotion, social determinants of sexual health, as well as sexual health from a social justice angle. He uses quantitative and qualitative methods from a community-based perspective to research topics including sexual health, HIV, HPV, epidemiology, youth, and men who have sex with men.
